Car/Light Commercial Weld Training
About the Course
What does the course entail?
Â
On site testing and training for UK mainland with national coverage. This reduces down time, overnight expenses and the candidate is tested on his own equipment that he uses every day on the vehicles he welds.
Â
Stanners specialised services have a dedicated team of CSWIP qualified inspectors to carry out BS1140 spot and BS4872 mig test training.
Â
Our weld inspectors are recognised and accepted by major manufacturers including BMW, Mercedes VW, Audi, Vauxhall and Porsche. All our BS certificates are recognised for quality of testing and accepted for all manufacturer audits.
Â
Pre- training courses are available but our inspectors will alway try to guide the candidate through the test within the guidelines set by the BSI.
Â
For car and light commercial we usually recommend a test done in 1mm covering a technician from 0.75mm upto 1.5mm. Then also a 2mm weld test done which covers the technician to weld a thickness range from 1.5mm up to 3mm. This is a selection of joints and weld positions covering different possibilities to weld a vehicle. Our standard BS test includes the ATA009 module for repairers who need this certificate. (The IMI registration is at an extra charge)
Â
If you are approved for certain manufactures such as Mercedes, BMW, JLR, Vauxhall, Porsche then both a 1mm and 2mm BS4872 and BS1140 certificates are required for time of audit.
Â
All welds are macro tested on site in front of the candidate to give a full transparent service.
